The Differences And Advantages Of Lined Ball Valve Over Other Valves
Lined Ball Valve are available in floating or fixed designs. All relatively moving parts are constructed of self-lubricating materials with minimal friction, resulting in low operating torque. Furthermore, the long-term sealing effect of the sealing grease ensures greater flexibility. Their advantages are as follows:
1. Low fluid resistance.
Ball valves are generally available in either full-bore or reduced-bore configurations. Regardless of the configuration, ball valves offer a relatively low flow resistance coefficient. Conventional ball valves are straight-through, also known as full-flow ball valves. The passageway diameter is equal to the pipe's internal diameter, and the resistance loss is limited to the frictional resistance of a pipe of the same length. Of all valves, ball valves offer the lowest fluid resistance. There are two ways to reduce resistance in piping systems: one is to reduce the fluid flow rate by increasing the pipe and valve diameter, which significantly increases piping system costs. The other is to reduce local resistance within the valve, for which ball valves are the best option.
2. Quick and convenient opening and closing: Ball valves can be fully opened or closed with a simple 90-degree turn, enabling rapid opening and closing. 3. Good sealing performance
The vast majority of ball valve seats are made of elastic materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which are usually called soft-sealed ball valves. Soft-sealed ball valves have good sealing performance and do not require high roughness and processing accuracy of the valve sealing surface.
4. Long service life
Because polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE or F4) has good self-lubricating properties, the friction coefficient with the ball is small and the improved processing technology reduces the roughness of the ball, which greatly increases the service life of the ball valve.
5. High reliability.
(1) The sealing pair of the ball and the valve seat will not suffer from scratches, sharp wear and other faults;
(2) After the valve stem is changed to an internal type, the potential accident risk of the valve stem flying out due to the loosening of the packing gland under the action of fluid pressure is eliminated;
(3) The ball valve with anti-static and fire-resistant structure can be used for pipelines transporting oil, natural gas and coal gas.
