A lined gate valve delivers bi-directional on-off isolation for aggressive corrosive slurries and concentrated acids while shielding cast metal components from chemical attack. Featuring an unobstructed full-bore conduit and a fluoroplastic-encapsulated wedge, this valve configuration achieves ANSI FCI 70-2 Class VI zero-leakage shutoff without causing flow turbulence or pressure drop across chemical distribution networks.

Unobstructed Bore Geometry and Particulate Handling

Unlike throttling units with tortuous internal channels, a ptfe lined gate valve lifts the sealing wedge entirely out of the fluid stream to allow unrestricted, straight-line media passage.

This planar flow path prevents solid particulate accumulation, eliminates media entrapment beneath the seat, and minimizes localized abrasive wear when isolating spent pickling liquors or crystalline acid suspensions.

Fluoropolymer Body Lining Material Matrix

Polymer Resin Grade Working Temperature Range Permeation Resistance Chemical Media Compatibility
Compression-Molded Virgin Resin -20°C to +180°C High resistance threshold Aqueous mineral acids, caustic soda solutions
Melt-Processable PFA Formulation -20°C to +200°C Superior molecular barrier Wet chlorine, hydrofluoric acid, hot nitric acid
Extruded Fluoropolymer Copolymer -20°C to +150°C Moderate resistance threshold Dilute inorganic salts, abrasive chemical washings

Wedge Encapsulation and Fugitive Emission Elimination

Stem packing integrity remains essential when routing volatile corrosive fluids. A teflon lined gate valve employs an elastic chevron packing assembly paired with an integral back-seat seal to eliminate fugitive emissions around the rising stem.

Machined mechanical dovetail grooves cast into the ductile iron body secure the polymer sleeve against the interior wall, preventing displacement or mechanical creep during sudden pipeline pressure surges.

Automated Pneumatic Actuation and Emergency Response

Automating emergency shutdown loops requires rapid, high-thrust mechanical actuation. Pairing flanged gate assemblies with double-acting or spring-return pneumatic actuators provides instant fail-safe closure during electrical power outages or instrument air pressure loss.

Heavy-duty mounting brackets connect the pneumatic cylinder directly to the valve bonnet, ensuring rigid alignment, linear travel repeatability, and rapid shutoff across continuous processing operations.
