Differentiate Between Two Types Of Ptfe Lined Valves From The Perspective Of Opening And Closing And Application

Previously, we distinguished the PTFE butterfly valve and PTFE ball valve in the PTFE lined valve from the structural characteristics of Lined Valve. Now let's analyze and distinguish the two valves from the opening and closing process of the valve and the applicable scope of the valve.
Let's first look at the opening and closing process of the valve. The opening and closing of the PTFE lined butterfly valve is to overcome the deformation of PTFE to achieve a greater torque; while the PTFE lined ball valve operates under the clamping force of the valve seats at both ends during the opening and closing process. It has a larger opening and closing torque than the semi-ball valve, and the larger the nominal diameter, the more obvious the difference in opening and closing torque. Secondly, in terms of the application scope of the valve, the PTFE-lined ball valve is suitable for liquids and gases without particulate impurities, with small fluid pressure loss, good sealing performance, and high cost. Its sealing relies on the long-term extrusion of the valve seat on the spherical surface, and the sealing is made of flexible materials, which is difficult to use in high-temperature and high-pressure pipelines; compared with the PTFE-lined ball valve, the PTFE-lined butterfly valve has relatively poor sealing performance. Its sealing is PTFE as the medium, and it can continue to be used through adjustment. The valve stem and packing only need to rotate 90° during the opening and closing process. When there is a sign of leakage, tighten the bolts of the packing gland a little to achieve no leakage at the packing. Other valves are still barely usable for small leaks, and the valves are replaced for large leaks.
