Three Major Differences Between Ptfe Lined Butterfly Valves And Fluorine Lined Butterfly Valves
Valves sometimes have significant differences in their product performance due to the difference of one word in their name. Just like fluorine lined valves and PTFE lined valves. And today we will talk about Lined Butterfly Valve and PTFE lined butterfly valves among these two types of valves. When many people first hear about these two types of valves, their concept is that they are the same type of product, but in reality, they are two different types of valves. Although they are both butterfly valve products, there are still differences in various aspects.
These two types of valves are mainly distinguished from three aspects. They are differences in appearance, temperature resistance, and molding process. Firstly, there is a difference in appearance. The two are mainly distinguished by the material and appearance of the valve lining layer. The fluorine lined butterfly valve mainly uses F46, which is semi transparent after molding, while the PTFE lined butterfly valve uses F4 (polytetrafluoroethylene), which is mainly milky white, and there are also modified polytetrafluoroethylene that is black. Secondly, there is a difference in temperature resistance. Fluorine lined butterfly valves can be used in medium pipelines below 150 ℃, while butterfly valves in PTFE lined valves have relatively higher requirements for ambient temperature and can be used in medium pipelines below 180 ℃. Later on, in terms of molding process, the fluorine lined butterfly valve adopts hot melt technology. The raw materials are placed in the mold and heated together with the mold in a high-temperature furnace. After the raw materials are heated to melt, the mold is taken out and pressed into shape in the next press; The PTFE lined butterfly valve, on the other hand, adopts low-pressure sintering technology. First, the raw materials are placed in a mold, compacted by a press, and the workpiece is taken out and put into a sintering furnace for heating and sintering. After forming, it also needs to be machined by a machine tool to complete the production of accessories.
These three differences also make butterfly valves in PTFE lined valves significantly different from those in fluorine lined valves, and the resulting effects are also different.
