What Makes a Lined Ball Valve Different?

The lining forms a corrosion barrier inside the pressure body. This reduces direct metal exposure while retaining the mechanical strength of the outer shell. Ball, seat, stem, and packing then work together to control flow and shut-off.

A ptfe lined ball valve with a floating ball can combine compact construction with pressure-assisted sealing. Fixed-ball designs may suit larger valves where actuator torque and mechanical loading require greater control.

Connection and pressure requirements should be evaluated together with valve size, operating temperature, and sealing materials. A nominal pipe size alone does not establish whether the complete valve is suitable.

PFA lined ball valves can suit applications where PFA compatibility and temperature capability fit the process. PTFE remains suitable for many chemical duties, while FEP can serve selected moderate-temperature systems.
